In October 2019, I challenged myself to create a children's book. Each day I took a single word from an artist's prompt list as inspiration to write and illustrate a page. At the time I was working at an after school academy in Seoul, South Korea, so I wanted to make a story with puns, references, and humor my students might appreciate.
The illustrations were done on bristol board with ink pens, scanned, cleaned up, and arranged into a pdf with Adobe Photoshop in 2021. I created the main font from my own handwriting, to give the book my touch while keeping consistent text style for legibility. I also used an OFL font for "Gwee Shin" on the cover page.
It was a lot of fun, and I hope to collaborate on similar projects in the future.
